Why Renewable Energy?

Worldwide demand for electricity is growing as are concerns about climate change and the need to ensure energy security. We cannot continue to rely on often imported fossil based fuels such oil and gas if we are to reduce our carbon emissions and ensure security of supply.

Electricity produced from wind energy is clean and utilises an abundant natural resource, it will never run out and will help safeguard our environment for future generations.

The UK has the best wind resource in Europe and wind power generation is the most technically proven and tested of the renewable energy technologies; its widespread adoption throughout the UK is essential if we are to meet our obligations to delivery a significant percentage of our energy demands from renewable sources.
